Aspen wedding photo booth ideas

Weddings are like snowflakes, no two are alike! So when you are considering a photo booth for your wedding and want to find the perfect backdrop, it’s a good idea to take a few things into consideration.

The first thing to consider is, where will your wedding take place? Will it be outside? Is there a killer view from your venue? If so, you may already have the perfect backdrop! The majority of our weddings take place in Colorado in the summertime which means lush greenery and sweeping views. All perfect ingredients for beautiful and memorable photos. Often times we will set up outside to capture the view during cocktail hour and when the guests move inside (it tends to get cold in the evenings) for dinner, we will set ups a new photo area with a backdrop. This is a great option because it allows us to provide two looks for the price of one! We get a little bit of nature and we get the pristine photos of the SocialLight Beauty or Bliss Booth.

Don’t have access to the outdoors? No worries! Does your venue have any beautiful architectural elements that would look good in a photo? Maybe an interesting sculpture and artwork hanging on the wall? It could even been as simple as some interesting wall paper. Heck, we’ve used the side wall of a barn before. The point is, often times your venue will provide numerous options for a fun and unique backdrop that you simply cannot replicate elsewhere.

The next thing to consider is, what type of look or vibe are you going for? Is your wedding a black tie affair? If so, something elegant and simple may be best so that your guests really take center stage. Chances are, you and your guests have put a lot of care and attention into their outfits and so a simple white backdrop (like in the SocialLight Beauty Booth) or a flattering solid color backdrop would be best. Why? Well, if you have a busy backdrop, 3-8 people AND they are all disguised in a bunch of props, you just moved the focus away from your well dressed guests and created such a busy photo that it would be a miracle if anyone looked good in the pics.

Mother Nature

can often times be the perfect backdrop for your photo booth photos!

Now, if your wedding is a more casual affair and it’s all about having fun, a bright colored backdrop or even a living wall (plants, flowers, etc) may be perfect for you! At SocialLight we offer several different β€œsparkle” backdrops (see yellow sparkle example above) that are perfect for introducing fun. And with color coordinated props, your wedding photo booth backdrop is sure to liven the party!

The last thing to take into consideration is the time of year you plan to host your wedding. If you are getting married in the spring or summer then lighter color backdrops would be perfect! If you’re getting married in fall or winter, you may want to go with darker colors or possibly create a winter wonderland type vibe to really showcase the time of year!

To recap, we suggest taking a moment to consider 3 main things when you are looking to chose a backdrop for your wedding photo booth; Where, What Vibe and What time of year. Knowing the answer to these three things will definitely set you on the right path. From there you can do a web search, pull some example images and then share them with your favorite photo booth company. Chances are, they will; be able to make your vision come to life.
