How much does it cost to rent a photo booth in Aspen?

How much does it cost to rent a photo booth in Aspen? They say you get what you pay for in life, renting a photo booth is no exception. Like all products and services, there are different levels of quality and service so what quality photos would you like and what experience would you like your guests to have?

Let’s start at the top.

So how do you know which photo booth companies offer a great quality vs. the ones who don’t?

  • A great place to start is with a quick google search. You should see several photo booth companies in your area and when you do, see what kinds of ratings they have. Not just how many ratings but also the quality. See what others have to say!

From there, we recommend you visit their website.

  • Is it clean and professional? Easy to follow or does it look like it was thrown together by a baby boomer?

  • Are the images well lit, in focus and of a nice pixel quality? Or are they dim, dark, grainy or fuzzy?

While the images on the main page are important, we’d like to point out that the majority of the photo booth companies out there have simply “borrowed” images from the internet that look good. Often times the images you see on the homepage and throughout the site were not captured by their photo booth machines or even the by the company! It’s a shame for sure but there’s an simple way to see what their actual images look like.

Any good photo booth company will have a gallery page where they post all of the images from all of their events. Take ours for example: At SocialLight Photo we have locations in Aspen, Denver and Salt Lake City and so we have gallery pages for each of those locations. Here’s a link to the Aspen & Vail galleries: https://www.slphoto.co/AspenVail Our Aspen location has been rocking out since waaaay back in late 2012 and so there are hundreds and hundreds of galleries with almost a million photos in them! All of these images are captured live for our clients and they are our resume. The images are a fantastic representation of the work we do and the quality of the images we capture. That being said, when you are checking out a photo booth company’s website, go straight for the gallery page to see their work. Sometimes it’s labeled as “photo galleries”, sometimes as “view your photos” etc. You will also be able to see when their most recent events occurred or maybe they haven’t posted anything in quite a while. There could be several reasons for this but the most obvious one is that haven’t had much business lately. You may want to ask them why.

Of course another simple thing to do is ask them for example photos from from the 5 most recent events. Any good photo booth company will be happy to provide this to you.

Now that you are confident in their ability to capture quality photos it’s time to get an idea of their quality of service. In addition to reading the google reviews, we suggest you give them a call or shoot them an email and see how they respond.

  • Do they answer you right away, within a few hours or do they take more than a day to get back to you?

  • If you chat with them on the phone are they friendly and happy to be chatting with you or not so much?

  • Are they local to your area and knowledgable about your venue? Have they set up at your venue before or will this be their first time?

  • If you have an event planner working for you, have they worked with he/she before?

  • Do they offer you helpful suggestions to ensure your phot experience is amazing?

  • How long have they been in business? How many events have they done?

I think you see where I’m going with this. A good photo booth company with awesome service is going to go above and beyond just like any other reputable company. If you’re not impressed with your interaction it may be a good time to move on to the next photo booth company.

So what does all of this have to do with the price of a photo booth? Absolutely Everything!

If you care about quality and would like to ensure that your guests have an amazing photo experience, you understand that it costs what it costs because it’s completely worth it! On the other end of that perspective is that you only have a few hundred dollars and you have need something that will work for that amount. Having a budget is totally normal but let me phrase it another way; would you only pay a couple hundred dollars for a chef and expect he/she to deliver a 7 course meal for a hundred guests? Of course not! You get what you pay for. And so, you simply have to ask yourself where on the list of offerings for your guests is the photo experience? If it’s not a priority, then use the few hundred bucks towards something us.

If having gorgeous, Instagrammable images for your guests to share is important to you, then a high quality photo booth costs exactly what it costs!
